Architecture Ariana Grieu
The hotel is set in a traditional, double-wide Baltimore row home that is richly characterized by natural brick, wood flooring, and steel beams. Here, old-world imperfections were embraced and envisioned through a contemporary lens. Egyptian alabaster, local white and red oak, and tiles crafted in Spain are augmented by a large unifying garden featuring fine timber and sandstone.
Interior design Shawn Chopra
An earthtone palette is defined by natural brick from a Maryland quarry, alabaster sourced from Egypt, concrete by a local artist, white oak from Baltimore, and sand inspired by Giza. Together, it makes a beautiful frame for iconic and modern Scandinavian/Indian furniture and celebrated works of art. The calming lobby features details that harken back to Egypt, India, Denmark, and Japan, with local wood tying everything back to its Baltimore roots.
Shopping A shoppable feast
The hotel is filled with the designer’s favorite global brands and objects created by artisans in Baltimore. This means that all the beautiful tableware you see, as well as the furniture, the lighting, the plants, candles, books, and more are available to be purchased. Who said you can’t take your trip home with you?
