The hotel presents an intense dialogue between its exterior and interior, balancing luxury and simplicity, freshness and ease.

All the materials used to create Humano were handmade, produced in local ateliers, and assembled by area artisans. Here, the natural color of exposed concrete contrasts with clay tiles, raw bricks, and tropical wood details. An exquisite grid pattern enclosed by permeable lattices heightens the flow between the inside world and the surrounding environment, creating a natural relationship with the local scene.

With a color palette employing wine, dark oranges, and off-whites, Humano’s interiors stress the freshness of the hotel’s natural setting while underscoring the relaxed experience of the user.

The common areas and the rooms employ midcentury modernism and Scandinavian interiors to create a fine balance between simplicity, domesticity, and enjoyment. At the same time, the hotel’s design is well-grounded in the contemporary Mexican architectural context. The area’s surfing culture, meanwhile, plays strongly into the look and character of the interiors.
