Water consumption decreased by 13% in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Energy

The hotel uses 100% eco-friendly electricity, as well as state-of-the-art lighting systems, a paperless customer journey, and an offer for employees to lease e-bikes, making their commute to work greener.

Products & Produce

Both FREIgeist Göttingen Innenstadt and FREIgeist Göttingen Nordstadt are certified-organic hotels and use local suppliers such as the organic farm Joerge Penk in Moringen. They intend to increase their share of ASC and MSC certified fish and seafood to 100% in the coming years.

Culture

FREIgeist Göttingen Innenstadt and FREIgeist Göttingen Nordstadt sponsor local cultural events, such as Göttingen Culture Autumn. The hotel also supports a local food bank by donating €10,000 annually.

Recreation

Guests can work out in a separate yoga room and connect to Göttingen’s culture through local cuisine.
